Earthquakes can strike without warning. However, modern technology can detect the first seismic waves and provide valuable seconds for protective action. As a result, earthquake early warning systems are becoming an important part of safety planning for homes, businesses, and industrial facilities.
QuakeLogic introduces Quake Series, a new family of earthquake early warning systems designed, developed, and manufactured in Roseville, California, USA.
The product family combines advanced seismic sensors, intelligent detection software, touchscreen displays, and connected safety devices. Together, these technologies help people and organizations respond to earthquake threats.
From residential buildings to large industrial sites, Quake Series offers flexible solutions for different environments.
Detect. Confirm. Warn. Act.
What Is Quake Series?
Quake Series is a family of earthquake early warning systems developed by QuakeLogic. Its main purpose is to detect initial earthquake motion and provide alerts before stronger shaking arrives, when sufficient warning time is available.
Unlike systems that depend entirely on remote monitoring networks, Quake Series performs seismic detection and alarm functions locally. Therefore, an internet connection is not required for on-site detection and warning.
The product family includes four main solutions:
- QUAKEALERT HOME: Earthquake early warning for houses, apartments, and small offices.
- QUAKEALERT OFFICE: Seismic monitoring and alerts for workplaces, classrooms, and shared spaces.
- QUAKEALERT PRO: Connected earthquake early warning for campuses and multi-building facilities.
- QUAKEALERT PRO-INDUSTRIAL: Seismic detection and automated safety responses for industrial environments.
Each solution uses compatible Quake Series technology. In addition, organizations can expand their systems with remote sensors, additional displays, relays, and sirens.
This modular approach supports both small installations and more complex safety networks.
How Earthquake Early Warning Works

Earthquakes generate different types of seismic waves. The first waves to arrive are generally primary waves, also known as P-waves.
These waves travel faster than the more damaging seismic waves that may follow.
Quake Series uses seismic sensors to detect initial ground motion. The system then analyzes the signals and applies sensor confirmation rules before issuing an alert.
The process follows four key stages.
1. Detect Initial Ground Motion
QUAKESENSE and QUAKENODE sensors measure ground motion and send data to the connected system.
This information allows the detection software to identify potential earthquake activity.
2. Confirm Seismic Activity
The system uses sensor voting to confirm detected motion.
Depending on the configuration, two sensors must agree before the system confirms an earthquake alert.
This approach helps reduce false alarms caused by isolated disturbances.
3. Warn People
Once the system confirms an alert, QUAKEALERT displays a clear earthquake warning.
The system can also provide audible alerts and support additional notifications.
These warnings help occupants recognize the situation and take protective action, such as Drop, Cover, and Hold On.
4. Activate Connected Safety Devices
In supported configurations, the warning can trigger connected devices.
For example, industrial systems can activate sirens or send commands to configured equipment through relay interfaces.
Consequently, earthquake early warning can support both human response and industrial safety procedures.
Important: Warning time depends on earthquake location, wave travel, and detection conditions. Early warning cannot be guaranteed for every earthquake.
QuakeAlert Home: Everyday Protection

Earthquake preparedness begins at home.
QUAKEALERT HOME is designed for houses, apartments, and small offices. It provides an accessible way to integrate seismic detection into everyday environments.
The system includes an 8-inch touchscreen display and two wired QUAKESENSE sensors.
Its compact design allows the display to be placed on a desk, shelf, or wall.
Moreover, the system supports several communication and audio options.
Key Features
- 8-inch touchscreen display
- Two wired QUAKESENSE seismic sensors
- Local earthquake detection and alerts
- Built-in speaker for audible warnings
- Bluetooth and wired audio connectivity
- HDMI output for external displays
- Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity
The system continuously monitors sensor information while operating.
When an earthquake alert is confirmed, the display changes to a clear warning screen. Occupants can then take appropriate protective action.
Because local detection does not require internet access, the system can continue performing its core warning functions without a cloud connection.
For families seeking better earthquake awareness, QUAKEALERT HOME provides a practical addition to an emergency preparedness plan.
QuakeAlert Office: Workplace Safety

Workplaces face different challenges during earthquakes.
Employees, visitors, and facility managers may be located across several rooms or shared spaces. Therefore, clear communication is essential.
QUAKEALERT OFFICE is designed for offices, reception areas, classrooms, and control rooms.
It features a larger 14-inch touchscreen display and two wired seismic sensors.
The display presents monitoring information in a format that can be viewed across a room.
Key Features
- 14-inch touchscreen display
- Two connected seismic sensors
- Live sensor status monitoring
- Audible earthquake warnings
- HDMI output for larger screens
- Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and Bluetooth connectivity
- Support for additional audio devices
The system can also connect to an external display, such as a lobby television or control room screen.
As a result, earthquake warning information can reach more people within a shared environment.
For organizations, this technology can become part of a broader workplace emergency response strategy.
However, effective preparedness also requires training, evacuation planning, and regular safety exercises.
QuakeAlert Pro: Connected Protection

Large facilities often require earthquake monitoring across multiple buildings.
A single sensor location may not meet the operational needs of a campus, research center, or multi-building property.
QUAKEALERT PRO addresses this challenge through a connected sensor configuration.
The system combines two wired QUAKESENSE sensors with one remote QUAKENODE sensor.
Its 14-inch touchscreen display provides centralized monitoring and warning information.
Key Features
- 14-inch touchscreen display
- Two wired QUAKESENSE sensors
- One remote QUAKENODE sensor
- 2-of-3 sensor voting
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Ethernet connectivity
- Support for sensors in separate buildings
- Expandable seismic monitoring architecture
One important feature is the 2-of-3 voting configuration.
In this arrangement, at least two of the three sensors must agree before the system confirms an alert.
This additional confirmation helps distinguish earthquake signals from isolated disturbances.
Furthermore, QUAKENODE allows sensors to operate in locations away from the main display.
For example, a remote sensor can be installed in another building, basement, or floor.
This flexibility makes QUAKEALERT PRO suitable for larger and more distributed facilities.
QuakeAlert Pro-Industrial: Automated Response

Industrial environments require more than simple earthquake notifications.
Manufacturing equipment, production systems, and connected infrastructure may need specific actions when strong shaking is detected.
QUAKEALERT PRO-INDUSTRIAL combines seismic monitoring with industrial control capabilities.
The system includes a 14-inch display in a stainless steel enclosure, connected seismic sensors, a smart relay, and an alarm siren.
Key Features
- 14-inch industrial touchscreen display
- Stainless steel display enclosure
- Two QUAKESENSE sensors
- One remote QUAKENODE sensor
- QUAKERELAY smart relay
- QUAKESIREN audible and visual alarm
- 2-of-3 sensor voting
- Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP integration
The system can communicate with industrial control equipment through supported interfaces.
For example, QUAKERELAY provides outputs that can be configured for equipment shutdown commands, valve controls, and alarm activation.
Additionally, Modbus communication supports integration with PLC and SCADA systems.
These capabilities allow engineers to incorporate earthquake alerts into existing industrial safety procedures.
However, all automated actions must be designed, configured, and tested according to the facility’s operational and safety requirements.
For manufacturing plants, laboratories, and other critical environments, this approach connects earthquake awareness with automated response.
Smart Sensors and Connected Devices

A major advantage of Quake Series is its modular design.
Instead of relying on a single fixed configuration, users can expand their systems with compatible sensors and safety devices.
This flexibility supports changing monitoring requirements.
QUAKESENSE: Wired Seismic Monitoring
QUAKESENSE is a wired motion sensor that connects through USB 3.0.
It measures triaxial acceleration and rotation. It also supports additional measurement capabilities, including tilt and elevation.
Its IP68-rated enclosure provides protection against dust and water ingress.
Therefore, the sensor can support a range of installation environments.
QUAKENODE: Remote Seismic Monitoring
QUAKENODE is designed for locations where a direct sensor cable may not be practical.
It uses a 32-bit MEMS sensor and supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Ethernet connections.
This makes it useful for monitoring separate floors, basements, and buildings.
QUAKERELAY: Connected Safety Control
QUAKERELAY connects earthquake warning information with external equipment.
It provides electrical outputs and supports communication with industrial control systems.
Consequently, engineers can configure appropriate responses to confirmed alerts.
QUAKESIREN: Audible and Visual Warning
QUAKESIREN combines an audible alarm with a flashing beacon.
It can be connected through QUAKERELAY to provide additional warning coverage in suitable locations.
This is particularly useful in busy environments where a touchscreen warning may not reach everyone.
Together, these devices create a connected earthquake early warning architecture.
Local Detection and Cloud Monitoring
Reliable earthquake early warning requires fast local processing.
For this reason, Quake Series performs its core detection and alarm functions on-site.
The system does not need an active internet connection to identify seismic activity and issue local warnings.
However, cloud connectivity can provide additional monitoring and management capabilities.
The optional QuakeLogic cloud dashboard supports:
- Centralized monitoring of connected locations
- Sensor health and status information
- Earthquake event records
- Remote notifications
- Event reporting
- User and role management
These capabilities can help facility managers review seismic activity and monitor system status across multiple locations.
Importantly, the cloud platform complements local earthquake detection rather than replacing it.
